The Colorado Immigrant Rights Coalition alongside other immigrant rights groups in the Denver region led a campaign urging Denver City Council members to vote against the expansion of Key Lime Air’s contract with the Denver International Airport (DIA). The airline has operated hundreds of deportation flights this year through funding from the Department of Homeland Security. Community members were mobilized to email council members voicing their concerns on “the potential expansion of a company that is benefiting from tearing communities apart.” Denver City Council ultimately listened to its community, voting down the motion to expand Key Lime Air’s operations at DIA.
