The Colorado Immigrant Rights Coalition alongside other citizens and local organizations gathered together to demand that Mayor Mike Johnston turn off Flock cameras – automated license plate readers. These cameras are taking thousands of pictures of cars everyday across the city of Denver. CIRC co-executive Gladis Ibarra states that “these cameras become pipelines into the deportation machine. One camera scan can lead to a traffic stop. That traffic stop can lead to ICE custody, family separation, deportation, and detention.” Read the full article here.
