If you are an undocumented worker in Colorado who recently lost your job, the Benefit Recovery Fund offers cash unemployment assistance regardless of immigration status. This program provides much-needed financial support to workers without work authorization who have lost their job through no fault of their own and have W-2s or pay stubs showing taxes withheld from their paycheck. Unfortunately, workers paid in cash, as contractors, or by personal checks are not eligible.
Eligible applicants may receive up to $809 per week for thirteen weeks. The application process takes about 30 minutes if all required information is gathered beforehand, and applicants typically receive a response within 8 business days.
Privacy and safety are top priorities. No information shared will be disclosed to immigration authorities, the government, or former employers, and participation in this program will not impact future applications for legal status. Importantly, these benefits do not count as a public charge.
Note: The Benefit Recovery Fund is exclusively for undocumented workers. Those with work authorization—including U.S. citizens, green card holders, or DACA recipients—are not eligible.
