Denver, CO — On Tuesday, September 17th at 6:00 PM, media and community members are invited to join the Colorado Immigrant Rights Coalition’s – People’s Forum on Immigration at the Lowry Event Center in Aurora, with live streaming on Facebook and Zoom and interpretation into Spanish available. This event provides a unique opportunity to engage in thoughtful, informed discussions on immigration policies, shedding light on the complexities of the system—both present and past—while also creating space to explore concrete solutions.
As immigration continues to be a polarizing topic, with efforts to alter protections and introduce restrictive measures gaining traction, the People’s Forum on Immigration aims to provide a much-needed space for balanced dialogue. Participants will have the opportunity to hear from a moderated panel of immigration experts who will answer questions from the audience, providing insights into the current state of immigration and the factors shaping public policy.
“We want this forum to be a space where people can better understand how immigration actually plays out, what policies can address the points of tension, and ask the questions that matter to our communities,” said event organizer and Political Director with the Colorado Immigrant Rights Coalition Caitlin Trent. “Our goal is to promote informed perspectives and foster inclusivity by giving people the facts and historical context that often get lost in polarized discussions.”
Interpretation into Spanish will be available both in person at the Lowry Event Center and on the Zoom livestream. The panel will be announced closer to the event and will feature knowledgeable experts from various sectors to help shed light on the issues and contribute to a more nuanced understanding of immigration.
