Tell Congress: Defund Abusive ICE & Border Patrol!

December 18, 2018

Abusive agencies ICE & Border Patrol are responsible for Family Separation & the deaths of many migrants in their custody.

The #Not1Dollar campaign has been a consistent voice against ANY increase in funding for DHS and specifically for enforcement agents and increased detention capacity.

Last year, Trump held hostage Dreamers, DACA recipients, and TPS holders in exchange for more funding for his Deportation Machine & to fund his border wall.

This year, President Trump’s administration and his allies in Congress are trying to establish indefinite family detention, partly through funding streams and partly through the recent attempt to undermine the Flores Settlement, prohibiting indefinite detention for children.

Congress must reject attempts to increase funding for DHS to expand Trump’s deportation machine and oppose indefinite detention of families at every turn.

After the Family Separation Crisis and now the death of Jakelin Amei Rosmery Caal Maquin a 7-year old Guatemalan child under Border Patrol (CBP) custody, we must DEMAND accountability and FIGHT against more funding for these abusive agencies.

Jakelin Amei Rosmery Caal Maquin died in Border Patrol custody in December 2018.

DHS cannot be trusted.

We know agencies like ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) and Border Patrol have a history of abuse and human rights violations. This year, DHS requested money within their agencies be transferred to support high detention numbers and enforcement.

Let’s make sure this NEVER HAPPENS AGAIN.
