“I’m not a criminal. I’m not doing anything wrong. I don’t have a legal paper, but I don’t need a legal paper to stay with the kids. I’m a mother. I don’t need that.” – Sandra Lopez, Carbondale, CO
RSVP is required to attend an intimate virtual reading of Women of Resolution live from the homes of readers Anna Hanson, Jessica Hersh, Charna Rosenholtz and Rabbi Rosalie M. Osian, Chaplain and musician Teresita Lozano.Women of Resolution shares the autobiographical stories of Araceli Velasquez, Ingrid Encalada Latorre, Rosa Sabido, and Sandra Lopez – four women who sought sanctuary to prevent being deported and separated from their families. This performance is part of Motus Theater’s Shoebox Stories project and our We Were Strangers series – a collaboration with Jewish leaders who express moral courage and civic hospitality as they read aloud the story of an undocumented person and reflect both personally and theologically on seeing the world through the eyes of an immigrant.
